Step By Step Tutorial

Step 1: Prepare Your Logo

Before generating your grid:

  • Group or Unite your logo elements in Illustrator

→ Use Object > Group or the Pathfinder tool

⚠️ Skipping this step may cause the grid to apply to only part of your design.
Step 2: Choose Your Grid Components

Open Akrivi Gridit and navigate to the Logo Grid tab. Toggle the components you want to generate:

  • Anchors – helps reveal anchor point structure

  • Handles – shows curve control handles

  • Outlines – adds an outline around your shape

  • Gridlines – creates straight-lines for alignment guides

Step 3: Generate Your Grid

You can generate grids in two ways:

  • Option 1: Select your logo → choose individual components → click Generate

  • Option 2: Select your logo → click Generate All

Step 4: Customise your grids

Click the Customize arrow to expand the settings. In V3, you can now adjust visual properties in real-time using Live Sliders.

  1. Select a Component: Click on the specific element you want to edit (e.g., Anchors, Handles, or Gridlines).

  2. Adjust the Sliders: Drag the sliders to change the properties:

    • Scale: Increases or decreases the visual size of the anchors or handles.

    • Stroke: Adjusts the weight/thickness of the lines or outlines.

  3. Set Colors: Click the color swatches to define the Fill and Stroke colors for high contrast against your background.

Step 5: Check for Alignment Issues

Use these tools to refine your logo design:

  • Anchors → Look for uneven, overlapping, or unnecessary anchor points

  • Gridlines → Check for straight lines and even spacing

Tip: If gridlines don’t appear, your shape may be slightly curved. Try redrawing the path.

Step 6: Adjust Sizes or Colors (Lite Version)

The Lite version doesn’t include customization tabs, but you can manually adjust elements in Illustrator:

To resize anchors/handles:

  1. Select the grid elements

  2. Go to Object > Transform > Transform Each

  3. Use the slider to scale everything evenly

To change colors or stroke weight:

  1. Open the Layers Panel

  2. Click the target layer button for the grid component

  3. Change the color or stroke weight like any Illustrator object
